SNAP and TANF

The District’s Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program provides cash assistance to families in need, along with a suite of services to facilitate their path to success. The District of Columbia’s (District) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (formerly known as Food Stamps) helps low-income individuals and families by providing monthly benefits to purchase food.

Alliance

The DC Healthcare Alliance Program (“the Alliance”) is a locally-funded program designed to provide medical assistance to District residents who are not eligible for Medicaid.
